The Edmunds Center at Stetson University, home to intercollegiate athletics since 1974, needed updates to reflect the university’s athletic traditions and meet Division 1 standards. Its dated design lacked the inviting atmosphere expected of a top-tier athletic program, prompting a modernization to enhance function, image, and fan experience.

S3 Design began with a phased renovation feasibility study in 2016, updated it in 2020, and launched Phase 1 renovations in 2022. The new design introduces a modern and welcoming entry at Rinker Field, featuring warm wood tones and glass for a fresh identity that complements the campus’s charm.

Interior upgrades include a reimagined lobby with the Hatters Hall of Fame, improved ticketing, two levels of spectator concessions, and restrooms, and better circulation for spectators. The two-story addition also adds office space, a VIP lounge, and meeting areas. Along with site improvements, a new patio connects the new addition to the Wilson Athletic Center providing the student-athletes an outdoor area for social and team activities. Future phases will enhance athlete facilities with game-day court improvements and a practice gym.

The Edmunds Center renovations underscore Stetson University’s commitment to excellence, making the facility a vibrant hub for campus life and a source of pride for the community.
