As a follow up to our 2018 feasibility study, S3 Design completed construction documents for the Snyder Center for Health and Wellness at Lynn University.

The University’s project vision is the creation of a unified place for overall student well-being that includes physical and mental health. To achieve this, the program includes fitness and recreation, counseling services and student health services. The design team worked with the university to develop and prioritize the program spaces to meet budgetary constraints and create a solution that provides a distinct identity to each program element that balances visibility, identity and privacy for each program department. The study investigated multiple options for achieving the program needs within the available building footprint.

The result is a design that achieves the university’s project goals through a complete interior ‘gut’ renovation. This approach reconfigures the interior to meet the spatial needs and establishes an organizational clarity for the building approach and internal circulation and converts an old loading dock into a new entrance. It also includes the replacement of building systems and fenestration to greatly improve the energy efficiency and building comfort.
