Salvatore Canciello, AIA, LEED-AP
Sal is a founding principal of S3 Design, and has over twenty years of experience in the planning and design of facilities on college and university campuses. He is an award-winning designer with expertise focused on athletics and recreational projects. Central to his work is the execution of projects within the master plan and campus context. He has demonstrated design leadership in meeting project objectives and goals. Sal regularly participates in conferences as a presenter and panel speaker, and has received several awards including an academic fellowship, Henry Adams Certificate and James Britton prize for best thesis design.
Bryan is a founding principal of S3 Design, and an interior designer with over twenty years of professional experience working with a variety of corporate and institutional clients. He has been recognized for expertise in the design and planning of fitness centers and other sports and recreation facilities. Prior to founding S3 Design, Bryan was a senior associate at Sasaki Associates where he directed interior design for campus athletics, recreation centers and private health clubs. His focus is on project leadership and encompasses all phases of design from initial schematic through owner occupancy. Bryan has an extensive understanding of functional relationships, facility flow, performance of materials and finishes. His leadership provides the team with a design approach centered on the creation of a quality user experience that balances and integrates technical and aesthetic priorities.
Senior Project Designer
As a Senior Project Designer with 10+ years of experience, Steve graduated with his Masters in 2005 from Northeastern University. He has been a member of the S3 Design team for the past 7+ years leading a variety of fitness projects for clients such as New York Sports Club and Equinox Sports Clubs. In addition to fitness design, Steve has been part of S3 Design’s Athletics Master Planning growth for Division II & III schools. His design skills and understanding of clients’ goals, blended with his love of sports, provide a balanced insight into user’s needs in achieving a successful project. Prior to S3 Design, Steve was part of an award-winning team for the Northeastern University Veterans Memorial competition.
Sean has 10+ years of experience with familiarity working with both large and small projects. His love of observing and playing many sports, design experience and knowledge, and graphic abilities provide a well-rounded approach to the athletic and recreation focused practice of S3 Design. Sean was a member of his high school crew team and continued his love for rowing as a member of the crew team while attending Northeastern University. Prior to coming to S3, he last worked on the $6B Marina Sands Project in Singapore at Moshe Safdie’s office.
A graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, with a Masters of Architecture, Megan brings the ability to visualize space and develop comprehensive drawings for construction. While her previous work at D. Michael Collins Architects, focused on high-end residential homes, her work expanded to large residential developments with Thorndike Construction. Megan is an innovative professional capable of dynamic designs with a distinctive tectonic and material sensibility. She works collaboratively and personably with associates and clients, with the ability to communicate architectural design praxis.
Katlyn is the newest member of the S3 Design team and is a recent graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science, Interior Design. Following two internships with Nelson Architects in Boston, Mass., she brings with her a strong set of software, technical, and personal skills including organization and a team spirit.
As the Marketing Coordinator for S3 Design, Patricia brings almost 30 years of experience as a Freelance Graphic Designer to S. She has a demonstrated history of working in the design industry with skills in Graphics, Logo Design, Typography, and Adobe Creative Suite. She has also used her graphic skills over the years to assist non-profits with their marketing needs. Patricia is a strong arts and design professional with a Bachelor’s Degree focused in Graphic/Studio Arts from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Prior to joining S3, Patricia used her skills to serve as Church Coordinator of The Lutheran Church of the Savior and Brand Coordinator for the Jeff Dahlke for Congress campaign as well as volunteering as VP of Communications for the Boston-based non-profit, Foundation for Faces of Children.
